Moving from Felony Incarceration to Employment: Community Resources to Support Employment Success

Event brought to you by Envision Greater Fond du Lac, in partnership with Advocap, Forward Service Corp, and WI Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Employers interested in learning more about retaining employees who were formerly incarcerated will hear directly from experts and service providers in our local community about available services and respective eligibility requirements to support the success of their reentry workforce.

  • Most incarcerated individuals have at least one disability; 60% of incarcerated people have a mental health diagnosis.
  • In 2019, 180 offenders were released to Fond du Lac County.
  • Only 43% of the 180 offenders released were employed within 6 months.
  • Gainful employment is the greatest predictor and deterrent of recidivism (reincarceration).
  • There are numerous community resources available to retain your workers who were formerly incarcerated, including today’s presenters.
