Chris blends comic book references, business experience, superhero lessons, and an engaging mix of comedy during his empowering seminar to tackle work life balance like a true superhero.

Presenter: Chris Ramos

For over 25 years, Chris Ramos has worked with many non-profits, strengthening their mission and outreach programs through fundraising, volunteering, and strategic planning. As a lifelong comic reader, Chris believes everyone has an important ‘superhero’ role to protect their city.

Chris not only promotes community engagement, he lives it too. “Currently, I serve as Board Chair of the Milton Youth Coalition, addressing mental health, cyberbullying, and avoiding illegal substances. I also serve on a board subcommittee for Vision & Development of the YWCA Rock County.” Chris has previously served two terms as Board President for the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, is a graduate of the Leadership Development Academy and a founding member of Janesville Mobilizing 4 Change. Chris also volunteers for Agrace Hospice Care, ECHO, The Salvation Army, Project 16:49, GIFTS Men’s Shelter, HealthNet, and more.

“I really enjoy staying active and connecting with people. When I was young, our family experienced a tragedy and needed the support of organizations around us, and I suppose it's my way of paying it forward. At my desk, I have a sign that reads: 'be who you needed when you were younger'. I often come back to that guidance when stressed.”

In his free time, he is a drawing instructor, published author and public speaker. Chris is the co-host of the Bam Pow Comic Hour podcast and enjoys collecting, reading, and talking about comics, and art. Chris lives in Janesville with his wife, Wendy, and three daughters, Poppy, Violet, and Daisy.
